Why We Built This Site
New Mexico permits public access to eligible court records, yet Grant County does not use one universal county-court file. The Sixth Judicial District Court in Silver City keeps district matters, while Grant Magistrate Division I in Silver City and Division II in Bayard maintain their own limited-jurisdiction records. Silver City, Bayard, Santa Clara, and Hurley municipal courts also retain their own local cases. The purpose here is to distinguish those custodians, explain the public search and request paths, and direct readers to the official source that holds the record.
What You Will Find Here
- Docket guidance: how Grant County criminal court dockets and civil court dockets are searched and read
- Hearings and settings: ways to check the court schedule and then confirm a listed setting with the filing court
- Public lookups: how a docket search can start with a party name or case number through the official statewide index
- Copies and requests: how court case records and certified copies are requested from the appropriate clerk
What We Cannot Do
Grant County Court Docket is a privately operated reference resource. It has no connection to a New Mexico court, clerk, or government agency. Its limits are important:
- We cannot pull an official docket sheet or case file for anyone
- We cannot change, reschedule, or reset a court date or hearing setting
- We cannot remove, seal, or amend a case on any docket
- We cannot issue certified copies of any docket, order, or court document
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot promise that every contact detail, fee, or hearing setting is current
Only the clerk or court that maintains a Grant County case can provide an official or certified docket copy or court record. This resource can identify that office, but it cannot issue the document.
Search Partners
Some pages contain search tools operated by third parties. Those providers control their services, prices, and results. A paid enrollment reached through a tool may produce a referral fee that supports the resource. The site does not control a partner's charges, retention practices, or returned information.
